Produce Galore!

My fridge is stocked and filled to the brim with produce. Its great. I not only have one bowl of fruit on the counter, I have TWO!  I seem to be shoveling through more fruits and veggies then I ever imagined. I do not have a lot of time to trek to the stores to pickup organic produce so I decided to research home delivery. I discovered Suburban Organics. They deliver fresh organic fruits and veggies straight to my home every Friday and leave them in my cooler I keep by the front door. All the produce comes from local organic farms, mostly being in Lancaster, PA. They have numerous size boxes to choose from and you even get to sub out different items and add things you want and don’t want. I think its a pretty descent price too, considering everything is certified Organic and not to mention the convenience. I’ve been really excited to come home to my cooler every Friday! They deliver all over the East Coast, so check them out. Write my full name in the referral box when ordering, that way I get a discount. When you sign up your referrals, you can get discounts too 🙂

$60 for all this!
2 bunches of Kale
4 green apples
bunch of bananas
2 kiwis
3 Nectarines
1 Avocado
1 Watermelon
2 bunches of Spinach
1 bundle of Carrots
3 heads of Broccoli
Red Leaf Lettuce
2 Yams
Button Mushrooms
Head of Garlic

Yesterday after surgery I decided to treat myself to a juice at my favorite juice bar near my office. I didn’t have time to juice in the morning so it was justified. I always get an All Greens with apple, lemon & ginger…its so yummy. I also picked up an Organic Coconut Water for later and a Vegan Gluten free brownie that couldn’t stop staring at me on the counter. AND Russell Simmons happened to be standing next to me and even said hello to me! I’m actually eating the brownie right now and it is a pillow of chocolate heaven. Fudgy without being too heavy. Perfect consistency for being gluten free and vegan. The Coconut water was the best I’ve ever tasted. Definitely will be getting more of these on my lunches.

Lunch was kale, carrots, raw kraut, tomatoes and olive tapenade and a half of an avocado & a BBQ Sunshine Burger.

When I got home I had a surprise on my doorstep from my best friend & my little niece. Raw Granola Bars! I will be posting this recipe & many more from her. She has been experimenting a lot in the kitchen with her dehydrator and has a lot of keeper recipes to share with us!

My dinner was the eggplant zucchini wrap with Hummus and Kraut I made the other night. I was craving it again!

Antioxidant Protein Pudding for Dessert
Blend together coconut milk, 2 bananas, 1 avocado, scoop of protein powder, cacao powder, and agave nectar to taste. I added raw cacao nibs and fresh strawberries on top. It was really delicious.

Cool summer nights have finally arrived. Windows are open, fresh air is flowing and the moon is shining bright.
Perfect sleeping weather.
sweet dreams to all

  1. Great looking pile of veggies! I use to do something similar, The Purple Dragon Co Op. :)What a nice surprise on your door step. I wish some of my friends were raw, that would be great! Love Liquiteria! If I worked in the city, I'd be at all the vegan spots, daily!

  2. I'm going to be trying a lot of new places in the city soon…my list is growing by the day with new discoveries. I want to try Angelicas, Pure Food and Wine, and Quintessence as starters. Too bad the raw food is so expensive. If it wasn't I'd be eating out everyday! Having my best friend be raw too is amazing. Having that support has really helped 🙂
