Do not Fear Fruit Sugar!

images-7Hey Everyone! I have been absent from blogging because I have been focusing on my healing. I am happy to be back and be able to report on my progress. I have been slowly detoxing on a high fruit diet the last 10 months and each month that passes I am seeing more positive results. Fruit is not only the easiest food to digest, its the quickest and it pulls out waste as it moves through. Perfect food for healing my digestion issues! The question I get asked a lot is “Isn’t fruit in large quantities bad for you?” I also always hear how fruit is one of the worst things to consume if dealing with Candida, Lyme, bacteria over-growth, parasites or Cancer. So I thought I would touch on this subject to ease everyone’s fear and misconception of high fruit eating,

We all would agree that fruit is good for us, right? Why is it then people start questioning the idea of eating fruit in abundance? We seem to all be instilled with the fear that sugar is bad, even the natural sugar, fructose. Why is this? Is it because Dr’s have told you to stay away from it?  The problem with most health care practitioners is that they don’t know how to fix and rebuild problems that arise within the body; few even know why cells fail! Did you hear a friend or loved one say fruit sugar is bad, or are misinformed by the media? Ask yourself why fruit sugar seems to be the enemy and have you truly researched the reason why it is bad? I am going to look at the chemistry and magnetic side of things to show you that fruit sugars are good and essentially what our bodies need in order to thrive.

fruit-dietFruit as fuel, nutrition, & cleaners of waste.

There are approximately 100 trillion cells that comprise your physical body and they all must be fed and cleaned. Fruit does just that. Eating a diet high in fruit provides an abundance of positive reactions within the cells. People often view fruit as sweet foods that only contain sugar. You may not realize how nutritionally dense they are. It bathes your cells in everything that they need (and want!). There are many properties that make fruit superior to vegetables. Fruits are higher in antioxidants and astringents and will move your lymphatic system far better than vegetables. This is why one sees a lymphatic response when fruit is consumed. That is what you want! Fruits, also being a simple sugar, are superior for diabetics, pancreatitis, hepatitis, and all other gastric and intestinal conditions. Fructose does not require insulin or extensive digestive enzymes. Fructose is merely pulled into the cell by diffusion with no carrier needed. Fruits’ magnetic (electrical) energy is the highest of all foods, making them superior brain and nerve foods. They will bring energy to the body where most other foods take it away. NEVER FEAR THE USE OF FRUITS! Remember, fructose is so electrically alive and provides life force! Being that fruits are astringent, they are also carrying out waste at the same time. Quick utilization, lymph pulling and highly nutritional. What more could you ask for?

With that said, it should be obvious that fruit is good. What is bad, is the proteins, fats and starches that one consumes! It is best to balance high fruit eating with leafy greens, sprouts, some seeds and nuts & some healthy fats such as avocado & coconut. Not starches, fats, proteins, animal meats or refined sugars.

Science behind it all:

Let’s look at science in regards to cellular physiology. Your body is compromised of cells. Every organ, every gland, bone, muscle, ligament, all just a bunch of cells. Your cells are very much like your car engine. Energy is the main factor in function and mobility in this universe. Energy is the intelligence of creation. Chemistry is simply vibrational frequencies of energy. With this understood, the most popular source of energy on this planet is carbon & oxygen. They provide a source of energy to all life.

We use the chemistry of carbon and oxygen to provide fuel to run most engines. We combine oxygen (carburetor) with carbon (gasoline) to create energy; then we funnel the acid wastes out of the exhaust (lymphatic system).

Your physical body requires the same process. Oxygen and carbon (sugars, which are carbohydrates) combine at the cellular level to create ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate). Your cells require ATP to function and thrive. Within a cell you find a power producer known as the mitochondria. It is within the mitochondria you find the process of mixing oxygen (air) and carbon (simple sugars) which yields ATP. ATP is cellular FUEL.  Simple sugars are an essential ingredient required to create ATP. Without enough ATP a cell will weaken and become attacked (mainly by parasites), or bonded with a virus, or antigen.

Without sugar (carbon) your cells will die. The same is said about oxygen. Sugar is the main need of a cell in its functional ability, without which it will begin to die and mutate. This then sets up an Immune Response to the cell (s). Popular to contrary belief, your body does not use amino acids (proteins) for energy, nor fats, it uses sugar. Proteins can be broken down into glucose for this purpose, but at great cost to the health of the individual. Burning a protein for energy is like using the walls of your house to burn in your fireplace. It is only the adrenaline or epinephrine in meat that is energetic. This is a problem in that your adrenal glands are supposed to supply your body with adrenaline, when needed, for nerve function. Relying on it from a meat source, only weakens your adrenals even further.

Sugar = oxygen + carbon = essential energetic force of life. It is vital to clean, strengthen and regenerate your cells and tissues and this can be accomplished by eating a high fruit diet.

Fruit sugar is the simplest Carbon on Earth and the most easily digested foods and it is what your cells need in order to function optimally.  It is the complex sugars that people must stay away from!!! Sugars found in grains, refined sugars, dairy products, and the like, cause fat storage and are highly acidic and congestive. Hate to break it to you- but bread, cheeses, & starches have 100 times more sugar then fruit does. When you consume complex sugars like this, your body now has to deal with the excess sugar and now has to store them as fat, excrete what it can, and use the fungal family to help it rid itself of all the leftover sugar. Now we are back to excessive acidosis.  Welcome in Candida because they are the garbage men of life. Don’t blame them for coming in to do their job! Its only nature. A lot of man’s toxemia also comes from excess proteins and fats, which are broken down into acids, stored and/or parasitically acted upon. With a stagnant lymphatic system, this creates: systemic acidosis, body odors, culturing of parasites (bacterium, fungi, protozoa’s, etc.) all of which starts the inflammatory (immune) response leading to the atrophy of the body. Thats why it is so important to eat more fruit and less protein and fat!

Fruit does NOT cause or feed Candida/Fungus/Bacteria, its your body’s malfunctions that cause it.

Fruit sugar will only promote these issues if you cannot metabolize your sugars. If you have fermentation problems that only means you are not metabolizing sugars properly. What causes sugar metabolism problems are weak adrenals and/or pancreas. (I can guarantee you most of you reading this have weak adrenals!) Bottom-line, it is not the fruit that is causing issues, it’s your body. The underlying problem with high yeast and fungi/Candida problems is a congested, stagnant lymphatic system along with weak adrenal glands, non-filtering kidneys and/or a weak pancreas. The overconsumption of starches (complex sugars), fats and proteins and/or improper food combining can also play a big role with inviting fungus, bacteria and yeast in. Remember that your culturing medium for Candida (fungi in general) & yeast is your lymphatic system. Top it off with weak adrenal glands and/or pancreatic weakness and you have a problem. With compromised adrenal glands, you will experience a decreased production of cortisol. Cortisol controls sugar metabolism process along with your pancreas (through output of digestive enzymes).

I hope with the above, you can see through the myth! If you put out a piece of cheese, a slice of bread, and some grapes or a ripe banana on the counter in your kitchen, which one is going to grow mold (fungus) on it first? It will be a race between the bread and cheese. The fruit will only grow mold as it begins to ferment, since the cheese and bread are already fermented.

Remember: Nature uses the parasitic kingdom to clean and eliminate that which is not needed, damaged, or in some way loses its ability to support life in a healthy way. Fermentation and putrefaction are the processes of decay, or breakdown, which require parasitic action. Healthy cells and lymph do not require parasitic action. Of course this includes the cells in your body. With this understanding, what type of sugar could feed Candida (yeast, fungus, molds, warts, etc.)? That’s right… STARCHES and EXCESS COMPLEX SUGARS!

Fact: 75% of all disease have an endocrine gland involvement!

*Please keep in mind that if you have Candida and you start eating high fruit, it will stir up things as it pulls on the lymphatic system. This means you will likely re-experience itching, fatigue, foggy memory and other symptoms of fungal overgrowth, as you eliminate the fungi from your body. More moles/skin tags may develop on your skin before they disappear completely. Use a good parasite formula like Parasite M to your advantage but never forget to work on the lymphatic system and your adrenal glands, kidneys and/or pancreas. A good place to start is a two week kit of herbals along with eating high fruit, while transitioning off animal products, starches and dairy.

I often get asked about why one cannot digest fruits well. If you have a lack of digestive power from a weak pancreas, your simple sugars will very likely begin fermenting, causing bloating, digestive upset and undigested food particles in stool. Throw in a lack of sufficient sugar metabolism from weak adrenals and you may even experience serious problems eating fruit. The solution is not to abandon fruits (especially) and vegetables. The solution is to fix the underlying cause of the problem and to work your way through this process while still consuming fruits and vegetables. Use herbs, essential oils and/or glandulars (if needed) to help you through this.

*To see if your adrenals are low take your blood pressure. It should be 120-130/65-70. Anything with the tops number, lower then 120 indicates weak adrenals.

imagesCancer cells and fruit

“Sugars feeds cancer” is another tremendous myth. Acids feed cancer as acids create inflammation and the parasite response. To claim sugars feed cancer is to deny what decades of science has proven. To starve the body for a sugar is to starve the cell of its energy. This causes cancer. Starvation, acidosis, and ketosis damage cells. A damaged cell is on its way down the road to A-typical and becoming a cancer cell. This is also true of proteins and refined fats or too many supplemented fatty acids.  Remember if you are starving your body of sugars, you are starving all your cells. Your body’s health depends upon the health of its cells! A cancer cell is an “acid damaged” cell or a “starved” cell which mutates as acids continue to break it down. Trying to “starve” or kill cancer cells is a dangerous practice. If fruit sugar (fructose – a simple and superior sugar) feeds or spreads cancer, then be mindful that vegetable plant sugar (glucose – a simple inferior sugar) will do just the same. It doesn’t matter what any anti-fruit diet advocates, naturopaths or medical doctors assume about fruit sugar and its supposed link to cancer or yeast. Fruit contains sugars. Vegetables contain sugars. Your cells require simple sugars to function and it is impossible to starve your damaged cells of sugar without starving your normal cells in the process. So if you are thinking that vegetables are a better choice for these conditions, think again. Vegetables are overall more difficult to digest and energy-draining; also not to mention that glucose (vegetable plant sugar) is an inferior sugar compared to fructose.

It should be clear that if sugar feeds cancer in the fashion that people generally relay it, you’d be in TROUBLE because you CANNOT starve the body of sugars whether it is from fructose, glucose, galactose or any other simple sugars. Your body will always be converting sugars for food! Remember, fruits are much more electrical (energetic) to one’s body and are much higher in antioxidants and astringents than vegetables, which makes them ideal in all cases, especially cancer.

Now on the other hand, if you consume acidic sugars, or sugars that will indirectly lead to acidosis of the body, then we could, easily, consider the idea of sugar “feeding” cancer and yeast. These sugars are from food sources such as refined sugar, rice, potatoes (white potatoes in particular), pastries, pasta, rye, oatmeal, and starches.

Most diabetics have kidney weakness as the adrenal glands sit on top of them and the adrenal glands are always somewhat involved in all diabetics, as they control sugar metabolism. Diabetics are very vulnerable to cancer as weak kidneys obstruct the proper flow and cleansing of one’s lymphatic (sewer) system, which deals mostly with cellular and parasitic wastes (acids). The lymphatic system is one’s main immune system. The system that cleans you.

Diabetes is one of the easiest conditions to cure! To summarize: those who have higher fasting glucose levels are starving their cells for essential carbon, which is vital in keeping a cell healthy and alive. Fruits would be very advisable in these cases, as fruit sugars can be used by cells where pancreatic and adrenal function can block glucose (vegetable sugar) entry. You might initially have some blood glucose “loading” but this will disappear and your cells will be getting energy and therefore, the atrophy will stop.

Detoxifying the lymphatic system with fruits:

Superior deep-tissue detoxification can only take place with fruits. Vegetables, because of their lower energetic, antioxidant and astringent properties, and their complex cellulose structures will only detoxify you so far, and then you will reach a plateau. This can be seen all the time in detox and health retreat centers around the country. A lot of people who have tried these “detox centers” and can never reach true healing from greens alone. They are always craving fruits! Add fruit and herbs as your protocol and you will have a superior way to win over the cancer/disease you created. It is VITAL to clean. strengthen, and regenerate your cells and tissues. If you want to achieve true health and/or reverse any condition within the body, a detoxification protocol of consuming primarily fruit sugars and taking herbals will do the job like no other. This method cleans up the lymphatic system where 90% of all disease begins. Fruits are the one group of foods that accomplish the best possible form of cleansing: High water content sub-acid and acid fruits, especially the astringent fruits such as grapes, grapefruits, watermelons, lime and lemons are the strongest

Some people react negativiely from eating fruit. Fruit receives a bad rap for the deeply misunderstood astringent qualities (the pulling actions certain types of fruits have on tissues) which, admittedly, can become problematic if every eliminative pathway is closed shut. This is why I advise people to begin a slow transition towards raw foods if coming from a S.A.D.(Standard American Diet). Start replacing breakfast with fruit. If fruit is too strong, begin with green smoothies and work your way up. Your goal is to eat two (or three) meals of fruit a day and the third meal being a salad, low fat raw meal, steamed veggies, steamed baked sweet potato, vegetable soup (no tomatoes) or the like.  I like to recommend going on an herbal kit right away if affordable, to address parasites and to heal the stomach and bowel, kidney/bladder, adrenals along with the liver/gallbladder.  It is VERY IMPORTANT that you address glandular weaknesses and open up the elimination channels of the body. Rejuvenate your adrenal glands, kidneys and pancreas so you start filtering wastes out and can consume more fruit. Also clean up the gut and kill fungus/bacteria. Again, you can do this with parasite herbs and a colon cleanse kit by Blessed Herbs. I love this brand because it is gentle and easy.

Please note, In a deteriorating and toxic body, fruit WILL stir things up. It will start to break down lymphatic waste and toxins and this is why its very important your elimination channels are open. (Those are your kidney’s, skin, stomach/bowels and the lungs.) If they are not open and you start stirring up toxins with no where to exit, they will then get re-circulated into your system causing some unpleasant detox symptoms. To get your channels to open and filter, you need to eat fruits. (yes, you have to eat the foods that are causing you unpleasant symptoms in the first place in order to get to the other side) This is where herbs can come in and help with enhancing the ability to eliminate toxins while strengthening glandular weaknessess that are causing elimination channels to be closed in the first place. Don’t fear fruit! Clean the body up, fix the underlying issues and fruit will heal you! Herbals are the boosters to the fruit, learn to use them to your advantage!

“Do yourself a favor and don’t fall into the trap and illusion of those who do not know science and misinterpret these types of studies to fit their own misguided belief systems. The homosapian is a frugivore. Fruits are the gifts of the plant kingdom to man. Herbivores eat plants and are designed much differently than we are. (See my book: “The Detox Miracle Sourcebook.”) Our clinics’ clients have a 90% or better “cure rate” in those that have all types of cancer who go on our health programs. We use a lot of fruits in our health programs, especially grapes. Our cancer clients who used a high amount of grapes eliminated their cancers in as little as 45 days. Most in as little as 2 to 3 months.

Eat plenty of fruits, use herbs to kill any fungal activity in your body and fix the adrenal glands (sugar metabolism). And stay away from “starches” (complex sugars). This is too much sugar for man, and sugar breaks down into Carbonic Acid! The missing link is our great friends = the Botanicals! Never fear nature, understand it!”

-Dr. Robert Morse ND

Remember, if you want to increase your diet to high fruit but having a hard time:

* consume a low to high intake of fruits (depending on intensity of symptoms).

* Vegetables are okay (preferably as the last meal of the day).

* Absolutely no starches or complex carbohydrates.

* Experiment with eating smaller [fruit] portions more frequently. Try mono-meals of eating one type of fruit in each sitting.

* Fruits are easier to digest (which generally means less fermentation) compared to vegetables.

* Fruit sugar will stir up the lymphatic system thereby stirring up fungi for elimination and you will likely experience symptoms from this.

* The solution is not to starve the body of sugar with high protein, high fat or exclusive vegetable diets or green juice fasts or feasts with the reasoning being “fruit feeds fungi.”

* If the symptoms of fungal elimination become too severe on a high fruit diet, then slow down with raw/steamed/stir-fry vegetables, rebalance, and kick it up to fruits again when ready.

* Remember that vegetables possess simple sugars, so if “fruit feeds fungi” then vegetables will do just the same.

*Eat high water content sub-acid and acid fruits, especially the astringent fruits such as grapes, grapefruits, watermelons, lime and lemons are the strongest.

*Practice good food-combining. For example, always eat melons alone!

*Have fun, and enjoy the colors, smells and tastes of nature’s candy!

Raw Mango Curry Noodles: My latest Obsession

Raw Mango Curry Noodles

photo 2

Adapted from Fully Raw Krisitina’s recipe

  • 3-4 large zucchinis (depending on how much you want)
  • 1 ripe mango
  • 1-2 cups of orange/red cherry tomatoes
  • 2 Tbls, unhulled raw sesame seeds (you can use 1/4 cup of chopped zucchini instead if avoiding fat)
  • handful each of fresh basil, sage, and rosemary
  • 1/2 tablespoon of turmeric (or a thumb size piece of fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon of curry powder ~ less if you are using a spicy brand (I use this brand)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 medjool date
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Spiralize your noodles.

Next, blend all of the rest of the ingredients in a high speed blender like a Vitamix until completely smooth and creamy. I always leave some aside for leftovers. The sauce stores very well in fridge for up to 2 days! Pour the curry sauce over your zucchini noodles and mix well. Top off with halved cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of your favorite hot pepper flakes, if you want an extra kick! (These are my favorite!) It is also yummy with a little lemon juice squeezed on top!

As you can see, i’ve made this well over a handful of times. First time I ate it, I made it 5 nights in a row. It is warming to the soul and the belly. PERFECT winter raw meal. If you love curry, you’ve got to try this!

Raw Tomato Wraps

photo 3

I have quite a lot of produce sitting around my kitchen. If that’s the case at your house too, then these wraps are great to use up those summer tomatoes & squash with. I absolutely love sandwiches and prefer to eat a salad with my hands, so wraps are really handy (pun intended) to have around. Have you looked at the prices of store-bought raw wraps? Holy moly, it’s way too easy to re-create those for cheap at home! Don’t be afraid to throw in whatever veggies you have and spice it up with fresh herbs or your favorite spices. This is really a fool-proof method. Remember, when it comes to dehydrating, how it tastes going in is pretty much how it’s going to taste coming out so if it’s not tasty, spice it up and add ton of flavors to it!

photo 2

1 red pepper, roughly chopped
1 pint of cherry tomatoes
3 yellow squash or zucchini, roughly chopped
1 small red onion, roughly chopped
3 tablespoons lemon juice, or juice from 1 lemon
1 cup sun-dried tomatoes (soaked for 2 hours)
1 jalapeño, roughly chopped (check to see if it’s a real hot one first – you don’t want these wraps to be too spicy!)
3 tablespoons coconut amino’s (or your favorite soy sauce)
2 tsp garlic powder
1 cup of ground flax meal

2 green onions, diced

3 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced

photo 5

1. In a food processor or high speed blender, mix everything but the flax seed, parsley and green onion.
2. Add puree mixture to bowl with 1 cup of flax meal and mix well. Now is the time to add any extra spice or seasoning if it lacks. Mix in green onions and parsley. Let sit for 10 minutes to thicken up, periodically mixing.
3. Spread thinly onto a dehydrator sheet about 1/4″ thick.
4. Dehydrate for 4-6 hours at 115F or until one side is somewhat dry. Turn over by placing another tray on top and flipping onto new screen. Continue drying until completely dry but still pliable. Careful NOT to over dry or the sheet will become cracker-like.

5. Slice into desired size and store in airtight container or zip-loc bag in fridge. I cut one sheet full into 4 squares.

Raw Noodles: Two ways

One of my favorite thai dishes is a big bowl of comforting warm pad thai. Although, they tend to be pretty greasy & salty! Since I’m cutting down on my oil, salt, and cooked foods, I decided to try to satisfy the craving with this. Bingo! Delish. You can even warm it up slightly in the dehydrator if you have some time. Enjoy!

photo 5Raw Pad Thai Noodles

Makes: 2-3 servings

1 Mango

1 Teaspoon of minced Ginger

1/2 red pepper

Splash of Orange Juice

2 soaked pitted dates

2 tablespoon of tahini or raw almond butter

one garlic clove

1 jalapeño

2 tablespoon coconut aminos (or 1 tablespoon of tamari, nona shoyu, or soy sauce)

juice from 1 lime

water as needed

Blend all the above ingredients together in a blender or a food processor. Add touches of water to it until the desired consistency is reached. You want it to be a little thick so it sticks to your noodles. Season to taste.

noodles & toppings:

You can use anything you like for noodles – cucumbers & sweet potato would be good too!

I used:

summer squash

green onions

red cabbage

yellow pepper

romaine leaves, chopped

hemp seeds and/or sesame seeds

Spiralize or thinly slice your zucchini, squash and carrots. Slice very small, the yellow pepper, red cabbage, & green onions. Mix dressing with the noodles and veggies then serve over crisp chopped romaine. Top with minced cilantro, and sprinkle with hemp seeds and/or sesame seeds. Top with sprouts. Serve with lime wedges and squeeze juice on before eating.

Cool as a cucumber. A perfect dish for a hot summer day. Crunchy, hydrating, a little sweet, a little spicy. Mmmmm…..

Cucumber Noodles with Mango Basil Coconut Sauce

one cucumber, spiralized or julienned very thin or sliced into rounds to dip

1 mango

juice from one lime

1/2 cup young thai coconut meat (I buy mine frozen from my local health food store)

10 fresh basil leaves, more for garnish

1/4 cup (or more) of coconut water

*optional:if you want to add a little spice, add your favorite hot pepper (I like habanero or jalapeño)

Blend or puree everything together. I like to start with a 1/4 cup of liquid to thin out and add more accordingly to get your desired thinness. You want it to remain someone thick so it sticks to the noodles.  Pour finished sauce over cucumber noodles. Garnish with more basil.

*Kick up the flavor even more with thai basil instead of regular~

Good Eats

Adding more fruit to my life.

photo 3[4]I started incorporating more fruit into my diet a few weeks ago. I was not used to eating mostly fruit so as a filler I would grab a raw bar or two to keep me full.  Thunderbird makes a very tasty bar!

photo 2[4]

Then at night I was enjoying a “Raw Till 4” high carb dinner that consisted of a large raw salad, (Hippocrates) soup and rice pasta with no salt or oil tomato sauce. I am using Raw till 4 to hopefully transition into a more raw diet.

photo 3[6]I started realizing with the nifty “My Fitness Pal” App, that I needed to make sure get more calories in, so I upped the fruit count. I realized that my best bet for getting in easy calories was bananas & dates in smoothie form. A typical smoothie that I will make consists of 4 bananas and 10 dates blended with coconut water which = 1105 calories! Gets my belly full and keeps me totally satisfied until my next meal of fruit.

Banana Mylk-shake

3 frozen bananas

1 ripe banana

8 oz. coconut water

pinch of vanilla bean

10 dates

photo 5[6]

Another winner is banana nice cream for breakfast!  Frozen bananas blended with carob powder and a little water. Topped with chunks of dates.

photo 1[5]

I began introducing more and more fruits and less raw bars. I always keep my meals mono-fruit meals because its much easier to digest. I tend to graze all day rather then eat 3 seperate large meals. For example, I will have a melon breakfast, a few hours later snack on a few apricots, then an hour later graze on a bag of grapes, then wait a few hours until eating berries or dates.

photo 1[6]

A good rule of thumb: Melons should strictly be eaten alone and away from other foods (or with other melons) because they digest so quickly. Proper food combining is key!

photo 3[7]

After a few days of adjusting with high fruits, I started incorporating more melon and more black/red grapes. These fruits, along with berries and lemons are super astringent and really good lymph pullers. The whole basis behind the healing detox I am doing is to clear and move stagnant lymph/inflammation/acidosis. Fruit is what the body utilizes as it’s fuel to heal.

photo 1[4]

I am loving organic grapes!

photo 4[4]

Smoothies really help with smashing in lots of calories and fruit into one sitting. Again, keeping it more simple seems to be better for my digestion. It keeps the gut from working overtime when there are only a few items to sift through. My other favorite smoothie right now is Datorade. It tastes like liquid caramel. So Yummy!

10-20 dates, soaked

water that you soaked dates in

1 liter water

*optional: add banana, cinnamon, mint, carob or vanilla bean.

I added frozen strawberries above!

photo 2[1]

You can even mix in frozen blueberries – my favorite are the frozen wild blueberries at Trader Joe’s!!

photo 5[4]

For dinner I love to eat soups. This is buckwheat noodles in a miso broth with bok choy and pickled ginger.

photo 2[8]

My favorite Lemony Lentil Soup. This time I didn’t add lentils and instead upped the vegetable content.

photo 2[7]

photo 1[7]

This pre-made raw sushi (jicama replaces rice) is AMAZING. I need to go buy my own sushi making kit so I can replicate this at home.

photo 4[7]

…and sometimes you just need the real thing. My honey and I LOVE our sushi date nights. My favorite is avocado, cucumber and mango roll!

photo 1[2]

Beyond Sushi in NYC has some of the best damn Vegan sushi you will ever eat. I salivate thinking about it.

photo 2[6]

Their salads are out of this world too! Those tube things are sauces. Each roll comes with its signature sauce or you can mix and match. The sauces really make the meal!

I have a ton of new raw dishes that I have been preparing and I will share more of those with you soon. The more I get into this detox, the more I want to eat raw foods. I love to indulge at times though, so I’m sure you will see some rice and soups thrown into the mix every now and then.

Be back soon with yummy recipes!

Vegan Mac & Cheezy Sauce

Vegan Mac & Cheezy Sauce
~dairy free, gluten free, salt-free, oil free~
This was pretty darn amazing for whipping it together on a whim. I never liked the end result of just cashew cheeze sauce over pasta so I thought it would be great to mix cauliflower puree into it, to thicken it up a bit and get in more nutritional content while I was at it. There’s so many things you can do with this recipe to spice it up. Use it as a base and make it your own!
photo 5[2]
One small head of cauliflower (or approximately 2 cups)
1/4 cup vegetable broth
crank of pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups of soaked cashews (raw cashews soaked for 8 hours)
2 Tablespoon of lemon juice
2 tablespoons of coconut vinegar
A good crank of black pepper
1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast
1 tablespoon of miso (I used South River Hearty Brown Rice Miso)
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/4 cup coconut water
*optional – your favorite herbs-
I used:
2 sprigs of Rosemary
20 basil leaves
One box of your favorite pasta (or zoodles)
1.Start by steaming your cauliflower until fork tender.
2. Pulse or blend the steamed cauliflower with the garlic, pepper, and broth. You can add more broth if needed to get the consistency of mashed potatoes.
3. Next, blend (I used a Vitamix to get a creamy, smooth texture) all the Cashew Cheeze ingredients. Again, you can add more coconut water to get the creamy consistency you need. Season to taste.
4. Add in the pureed cauliflower into the cashew cheese and blend until incorporated.
Cook pasta according to the box. In a pot on medium heat, add cashew cheeze and hot pasta. It tends to thicken up easily, so you can add more vegetable broth or water to thin it out a bit. Stir until warm and serve hot!
photo 4[1]
NOTES: You can add salt if you like. (I am avoiding salt so thats why I omitted it) You could make a Cajun flavored sauce by using Cajun spice instead of fresh herbs or Mexican by adding cumin and hot pepper. Go italian and add tomatoes and broccoli. The options are endless! This recipe made just about 3 cups of sauce so you will definitely have some leftover for more pasta or a casserole. Or this can easily be halved!

My Current Protocol

Since last post, I have gone through quite a lot. With a lot of thought and research, I have decided to stop my antibiotics. I find that its counter-intuitve to be on toxic prescriptions while trying to cleanse. They didn’t seem to be helping anyways. I just don’t feel right taking pharmaceuticals! They were causing extreme nausea, stomach discomfort, swollen feet, sun sensitivity, fatigue, loss of appetite. Going through all this makes me even more a firm believer in natural healing all the way!!

In the 3.5 months I was taking antibiotics and lots of supplement, I’ve had a lot of die-off symptom.  It has been a bumpy roller coaster ride for sure. As you kill parasites and bacteria, they let off toxins into the blood which is the reason you feel so sick during treatment.  The body can only eliminate toxins at a certain pace so it is helpful to assist the body in releasing them faster.  There were a lot of methods I was using successfully to detox. I was detoxing through epsom salt detox bathsinfrared sauna sessions to sweat out toxins & heavy metals, rebounding to oxygenate the blood and move the lymphatic system, zapping for parasite killing, drinking a lot of lemon water, taking milk thistle to assist liver, taking immune boosting supplements, turmeric, olive leaf, transfer factors, did a parasite cleanse, dry-brushing each day for lymphatic flow, & trying to sleep a lot.

As far as my diet goes, it has changed a few times. I was doing a strict Candida diet with no fruit, no sugar, no carbs/starches but that was so restrictive. I started craving eggs and more meat so I honored my cravings and introduced more of those things in. I started to get my energy back but it was killing my digestion. My stomach was blowing up like a balloon each night!  I was continuously hungry and felt it wasn’t helping my Candida or my immune system. Then I came across information about the renowned Dr. Robert Morse. If you haven’t heard of him, I advise you read up! Besides his book, he also has a You Tube channel with tons of informational videos. His view in a nutshell, is that dis-ease does not exist. It is simply a clogged lymph system. ANY illness can be healed through cleaning up the lymphatic system, supporting organ/glandular weakness with herbs and eating a diet of high fruit to allow the body to heal itself. He makes so much sense to me and he has helped to heal many, many patient’s at his Florida Clinic. The detox isn’t easy at first, but neither is chronic disease. I am at my wits end to feel better and think this could be my answer. I can positively say that within one week of light detoxing, I am seeing fantastic results already!!! I haven’t even read his book yet, but from the amazing support on a FB page filled with his fans, I have been able to start the process of detox. If I am seeing results already, I cannot wait to see what a deeper cleanse will bring! I am ready to heal once and for all.

Dr. Robert Morse is an avid believer in the healing powers of fruit. He directs most chronically ill patients to do 100% fruit fasts along with herbs to fully clean up the lymphatic system and repair glandular and organ functions. I am not ready to do 100% fruit yet so I am using the Raw Till 4 lifestyle to transition myself. This is when you eat all raw (I am doing just fruit) during day (no oil/salt and very low fat) and then have a high carb/starchy dinner (vegetables/salad accompanied by GF pasta, rice or potatoes). I feel great doing this, but I am not 100% convinced about all the highly processed Gluten-free pasta, corn, and rice Raw till 4 people eat. It is a perfect transition period for me though to get into more raw food. So far its working beautifully. I am not craving the old SAD (standard American Diet) cooked foods so much anymore and beginning to crave more raw. As I incorporate more raw, I will be able to hopefully one day do a fruit fast to really clean out my lymph system.

For those of you who don’t think you can get in enough calories or nutrients from fruit – do your research. You can!  I use the ‘My Fitness Pal‘ app to make sure I am getting in enough calories each day. Just to give an example of my typical breakfast  – a 4 banana smoothie with 10 dates is over 1100 calories! To all you “sugar-phobics” out there, do your research! Read Dr. Graham’s 80-10-10 book, the Starch Solution or watch Robert Morse videos….sugar is the enemy ONLY if your cells are gummed in excess fat. Clear the fat, oils and salt from your diet and your cells will thrive off the sugars you feed it. Fat causes blood sugar problems, not fruit. Bathing your cells in fruit is what they need to thrive!

So for now this is my current protocol:

Sauna every a.m. (I used to do infrared but switched to a regular dry/steam sauna because I think its healthier)

-dry skin brushing

-rebounding at least 15 min each day

-epsom salt baths a few times a week

-deep breathing and lots of relaxing

-Lots and lots of lemon water

Probiotics for re-establishing good bacteria

IntestiNew for gut repair

-Vitamin D from the sun for at least 20 minute a day

– Fruits for breakfast & lunch

– Dinner: large raw salad or raw meal accompanied by rice/corn pasta or brown rice or potatoes or a vegetable soup.

-I am going to start using Dr. Morse’s herbs – Stomach & Bowel ll, GI Broom, Parasite M, Adrenals, Kidney/Bladder ll, Lymphatic Support ll, and Heal All Tea.

-I would like to eventually add in DoTerra essential oils too, as I hear these help tremendously.
